The Edgemoor Team will kick off its 2019-2020 Kansas City Strategic Partnership Program (KC SPP) this September and is pleased to count more than 40 Kansas City-based small business owners as participants. The KC SPP is designed to build small business capacity by providing participants with the knowledge and tools to better manage their business and capitalize on future opportunities. The executive MBA-style course includes a curriculum of interactive weekly classes taught by Edgemoor Team professionals and local industry experts and is offered at no cost to Kansas City-based MBE, WBE, DBE, SLBE, and Veteran-owned firms. The 2019-2020 program will begin with a day-long orientation on Wednesday, September 4, at the Morningstar Youth & Family Life Center in East Kansas City.

“We are excited to kick off our third KC SPP class,” said Kelvin Caple, MBE/WBE Program Manager for Clark | Weitz | Clarkson. “In addition to our commitment to build a new and better terminal at KCI, our team is committed to enhancing the size, scope, and scale of the local subcontractor community, with a specific focus on small veteran-, women-, and minority-owned businesses and disadvantaged firms.”
A total of 54 graduates have successfully completed the KC SPP. To date, six graduates have gone on to successfully compete for contracts on the KCI New Terminal Project, including:

The Strategic Partnership Program was developed 13 years ago by Clark Construction Group, lead member of the construction joint venture team, Clark | Weitz | Clarkson. The program, which is now offered in seven cities around the country, including Kansas City, has more than 800 graduates nationwide.
